It is my extreme pleasure to launch the first trailer from the AOMC’s MENU project – let us know what you think! This trailer is from barrish, curation #1: Amy Schiller and Helen Frank, and was created from footage shot by the amazing Kelsey Gall during the dress rehearsal and performance at Amy’s apartment on September 1th.
barrish, curation #1: Amy Schiller & Helen Frank was created for a select audience of 15. Set in Amy’s Brooklyn apartment, this version of barrish propels four women through rooms and hallways, elevators and stairways in search of intimacy they may not be prepared to bear. The women navigate escalating tensions of closeness and unease—cleaving, withdrawing, receiving and reckoning—as they vie for connection. barrish, curation #1 reveals intimacy as both promise and threat as it collides with the space we inhabit.

The trailer is soo beautiful! I think it’s the combination of the tender movement of the dancers juxtaposed with the non-theater setting, the music (love it) and the editing. It almost got me choked up when I first saw it at the party. Wow!
