We did it!!! I could say “it’s over”, but i’m an anti-ephemeralist, so i’ll say it this way:
The AOMC had their NYC premiere this weekend at Joyce SoHo, and it was an incredible incredible beginning.
We are all so grateful to everyone who helped make the performance (hell, the entire weekend and the two years leading up to it!) possible. From early DC-based supporters of our work to the showings that curated us to show excerpts in process, to the audience members that saw a listing and decided to give us a try, to the super-fans who tested the anti-ephemerality of the work by coming multiple times, to the amazing tech crew, to the gracious reviewers, to the core family of dancers and collaborators – it takes an incredibly supportive family to bring something like this to fruition, and we hope you feel that it was as much of a victorious amazing big step as we did!
More to come on press, response, and what’s next, but for now, please be at home in our gratitude!
lovealways, Sarah A.O. and the AOMC
