We did it! A massive thank you once more to everyone who came out to LPAC and showed us love at our show last friday!
We had a BLAST performing for all of you, and it certainly clarified a lot about the piece for us, even if it opened a bunch of new ones at the same time. We’re really looking forward to the work that we have cut out for us over the next four months – there’s a lot that I know needs to be changed or reworked, and a lot that I’m still trying to figure out. That being said, we’d love to hear from you all about what you thought, what your questions were, etc. Even though we had the chance to perform it on LPAC’s gorgeous stage, it is very much still in process, so any insight you have and are willing to share is immensely helpful! I’ll include the questions we had on the back of the program here, but please feel free to make your own or pose ones for me if you’d prefer!
1. In this piece, where are the performers? What are they trying to do? Who are they?
2. What (if anything) did you feel emotionally attached to?
3. Tell us about the use of text within the piece. Did it feel like too much information? Not enough? How did it change what you were seeing/knowing about the piece?
4. Were there parts of the piece that you felt were less engaging than others? Why did they feel this way to you?
5. How would you describe this piece: an epic novel, a TV series, an un-nameable feeling that you get repeatedly at certain situations, or one track of a CD on repeat? Why?
6. What are your remaining questions about the piece? Are there parts that you feel like you “didn’t get” or didn’t make sense? Did you feel like something was missing?
7. Was there a (or multiple) narrative(s) for you? If so, what was it/were they?
8. Can you tell us about how you experienced the arc of the piece?
And so while you’re thinking about these questions, you’re probably thinking ‘hmmm….you know what would be really really helpful? If i could see the video of the piece to look back and remind myself about certian things.’ Well your thoughts have been anwsered….kind of. We have the video (thanks reels4artists!) and it’s great, but we’re waiting to premiere it in our april e-news, cause it’s kind of a big deal.
